4th Grade Severe Weather WebQuest
Introduction:

We are creating teams of 4th grade meteorologists who will share information about types of weather disasters. Your job as a meteorologist is to gather information about severe weather conditions and how to prepare for them.


The Task:

Each team will be assigned a weather topic from the severe weather conditions listed below:

  1. Hurricanes
  2. Tornadoes
  3. Blizzards
  4. Thunderstorms
  5. Floods

The Process:

Each team will...

  • research and take notes on their weather topic to become informed meteorologists.
  • create a PowerPoint* weather presentation using weather data gathered from these websites and video clips.
  • learn about the severe storms that occur in the United States and how to be prepared for extreme weather.
  • share their presentations with other students in fourth grade.

*Each team will create a PowerPoint which will include a:

  1. Title slide with weather topic and names of each team member
  2. A Description of weather topic
  3. The Causes of weather topic
  4. The Effects of weather topic
  5. How to prepare for the severe weather conditions
  6. The positive and negative effects of weather


Your information will be recorded on a data collection sheet which will be given to you at the start of the project.
